I’m back home after a fun few weeks on tour in Holland and Germany singing and playing with John Illsley, bassist and founding member of dIRE sTRAITS. I was in excellent company in his band, with Robbie McIntosh and Paul Stacey on guitars, Steve Smith on keys and Stuart Ross on drums. Looking forward to playing some more dates in the summer… See more photos on Instagram.

Albert Hammond Support

September 2nd, 2016 · Uncategorized

I’m looking forward to supporting songwriting legend Albert Hammond at The Tivoli Theatre in Wimborne, Dorset, on the 22nd September.

Many of his most beloved songs, like ‘The Air That I Breathe’ and ‘When I Need You’, have become hits multiple times with various artists, decade after decade. Albert’s achievements were officially rewarded in 2000, when he received the OBE from Queen Elizabeth II in London. In 2008, Albert was inducted into the Songwriter’s Hall of Fame.

Lovers in a Storm

I loved singing on this song, Lovers in a Storm by Ronnie Mayor, from the album Love, Life & The Urban Myth. I’m in great company on this track with Robbie McIntosh, Dave Bronze, Paul Beavis, Steve Smith and Conrad Barr.

New Beginnings

May 5th, 2016 · Uncategorized

We’ve started recording a new song – and what better way to begin than with Paul Beavis on drums. I love Paul’s ideas, instinct and energy, and the something extra he brings to every session. This song I hope will mark a change in my approach and sound, so I can’t wait to get the track complete and share it with you.

Merry Christmas! Here’s a new cover of ‘River’ by Joni Mitchell.

This version of River was recorded live, with Steve Smith playing a very old piano that had been in storage for years, which we moved in recently. The tuning had fallen really flat, but Chris the tuner worked his magic and gently brought it up (very gently, 100-year-old strings are brittle!). Steve played the song beautifully, and it was great, after all this time, to hear and record it.
